Rights of the Data Subject

Pursuant to Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, titled “Rights of the Data Subject,” data subjects have the following rights:

  • To learn whether his/her personal data are processed or not,
  • To demand for information as to if his/her personal data have been processed,
  • To learn the purpose of the processing of his/her personal data and whether these personal data are used in compliance with the purpose,
  • To know the third parties to whom his personal data are transferred in country or abroad,
  • To request the rectification of the incomplete or inaccurate data, if any,;
  • To request the erasure or destruction of his/her personal data under the conditions referred to in Article 7,
  • To request reporting of the operations carried out pursuant to sub-paragraphs (d) and (e) to third parties to whom his/her personal data have been transferred,
  • To object to the occurrence of a result against the person himself/herself by analyzing the data processed solely through automated systems,
  • • To claim compensation for the damage arising from the unlawful processing of his/her personal data.

Request Process:

Data subjects may submit requests regarding their rights in accordance with Article 13 of the Law, in line with the Comminuque On The Principles And Procedures For The Request To Data Controller. For this purpose, the Data Subject Request Form provided by the University may be completed and submitted to the University using one of the methods specified below.

  • A wet-signed copy of the form can be sent to Hacettepe University by hand or by mail.
  • The form can be sent to the University address via a notary public.
  • The form can be sent via Registered Electronic Mail (KEP) to hacettepeuniversitesi@hs01.kep.tr.
  • The form can be signed with a secure electronic signature or mobile signature and sent to kvkk@hacettepe.edu.tr.
  • The form can be sent by the applicant to kvkk@hacettepe.edu.tr via the email address previously provided to the University and registered in the system. (In this case, the email address in question must be one that has been verified in the past and confirmed by the University's system as belonging to the relevant person.)

Evaluation of Applications

The University shall conclude the application as soon as possible, and at the latest within 30 (thirty) days, depending on the nature of the request. Applications are, as a rule, evaluated free of charge. However, if the process requires additional costs, a fee may be charged in accordance with the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
